Friendship hidden in gifts

Last winter, I received a special gift that still brings warmth to my memory.I hope our friendship can continue indefinitely.

It was a gift from my best friend Xiao Tang, a regular kraft paper notebook with the cover printed with "Our Ten Years" in hot stamped font. Opening the first page, there is a photo of us together in college-in the photo, I am nibbled on roasted sweet potatoes, with sugar on the corner of my mouth, and Xiao Tang is smiling beside me, unable to stand straight. "In October 2022, we ran three laps on the playground, and you said we wanted to slim down like lightning together."

What made me feel the most sour was the last page, where she drew two simple sketches, standing hand in hand under the rainbow, with the words: "We will spend every year together in the future. The gifts will be late, but our agreement will always count. It turned out that she secretly collected these small items and spent three nights organizing and pasting them. Even the "I like the texture of kraft paper" I casually mentioned was remembered.

This gift is not expensive, but it is more valuable than any luxury. It made me understand that the core of creative gifts is not "expensive," but "I understand you"-understanding your preferences, understanding your memories, and being willing to spend time turning your thoughts into visible and tangible warmth. As Xiao Tang said: "Gifts are carriers, and I want to tell you that you are very important in my life."

In fact, there is no need to rack your brains to pursue novelty when giving gifts to people you care about. A memorable sentence, a memory, and a little effort are enough to turn gifts into stars in time, illuminating each other's hearts.
